Reasons I know I’m getting old(er)

I turned 60 last week. In my mind, I am still 10 ft tall and bulletproof. NOT! 1. I still write letters 2. I have a home phone (no cell) 3. I use a #2 pencil. 3.The only thing hard about me is my blood vessels. 4. I never trust a fart. 4. Adult Diapers are calling my name. 5. Death seems like a good way to vacation. Thank you for the smile on my face, The Secret Blog of a 30-Year-Old! #PeaceMarshall

The past few years I have noticed a big change in how I see certain things in daily life, every time I tell anyone in my ‘real life’ about these changes they always say ‘ooo it’s a sign your getting old!!’ And I thought what better way to celebrate my grumpy old woman maturing ways than to share it with you lovely people!

Hearing house parties and general noises of fun pisses me off

When I’m in my garden I want peace and tranquility. Nothing pisses me off more than my sanctuary being destroyed by noises of a loud BBQ in a Neibouring garden or even worse, a house party. When I was younger these noises didn’t bother me at all, it was people having harmless fun, what’s the problem? Now however I get really annoyed, saying things like ‘for fucks sake it’s a Sunday!!! Why do they have to…

Smashing through F.E.A.R

Superbly written and thought out the article on Fear by my friend @ This author never disappoints! #PeaceMarshall

Fear, how we despise it so deeply, yet somehow the little bug never fades away. Like an invisible cockroach whispering ideas into your head. Do I have fears? Do you? Sure, we all do. Yet I know for a fact that together we can work to push it away, and turn that F.E.A.R into enjoyment. Fear can be… enjoyable? Just you wait and see, my friends!

What Forms F.E.A.R?

What if I let them down? What if I become poor? What if- Failure, I feel many of us find this as a big encouragement in fear. Some even fear failure in itself. That is okay! Have you ever heard of a Commitment Contract? It’s where you give yourself an imposing thread (donating to a company you despise, having to post embarrassing photos, etc.) in order to keep yourself motivated. In the beginning, the sense of failure is negative, keeping

Getting There Is Half The Fun

“The struggle alone pleases us, not the victory.” – Blaise Pascal It is a well known fact that the more effort you put into something, the more you end up enjoying it. Maybe that’s why we love unrequited love stories and folks who defy odds and expectations to come out on top. Maybe not many […]

How Drugs and Alcohol Can Hijack Your Brain – Neuroscience News

Findings could help explain why some addicts unintentionally relapse, researchers say.

Source: How Drugs and Alcohol Can Hijack Your Brain – Neuroscience News

New research into addiction may provide an answer that has been mystifying and plaguing people in recovery as well as the entire recovery support community for decades. Even before the AMA and the WHO classified alcoholism as a disease and addiction in general as a disorder the reason people relapse, even after long periods of being sober, could only be speculative. The finding of a disease came as a great relief to those suffering from addiction. The stigma of ” No Morality or No Will-Power ” was removed. It took many years for that to sink in. Some people today will not accept what science has proven. The issue of relapse has had no such explanation. If you ask someone why they relapsed, chances are they do not have a clue as to why. They are as in the dark as the ones around them. This is especially the case with those who are chronic relapse’res. The only thing the recovery community could come up with was that they had stopped going to meetings, were not working a program or had failed to stay spiritually fit. Actually, that is true in most cases. Now, there may be another scientific element that can be added to the mix, one more tool the alcoholic/addict can put in his collection. It has always been known that it is the brain that is addicted and it will want it’s “fix” 24/7 – 365 for as long as it lives. The brain will stop at nothing on it’s quest. The brain is the master of deception. What was not known was how it got the job done. How does the brain trick the mind ?(they are two specific things) Research may have cracked the code and hacked the brain taking a peek at it’s files. Check out the link above. See what you make of it. There could be a polar shift on the way!  Peace,  Marshallyouarenotasrationalasyouthink-161009042438
