Keeping The Dead In Their Place : NPR

Unidentified coffins are a big problem in Louisiana, especially when they end up floating down flooded city streets.

I WAS THERE WHEN HURRICANE KATRINA HIT. IN FACT, I LIVED ONLY 15 MILES WEST OF NEW ORLEANS. I WORKED AS A UTILITY RESTORATION FIRST RESPONDER AND MY COMPANY WAS CONTRACTED  TO THE UTILITY COMPANY THAT WAS THE LARGEST IN AMERICA AND COVERED MOST OF THE GULF SOUTH STATES WHICH JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE REGION I SUPERVISED. IN MY TIME AS A PROFESSIONAL UTILITY LINE CLEARENCE SPECIALIST I WORKED 21 HURRICANES AND COUNTLESS OTHER STORMS. HOWEVER, I SAW SOME OF THE MOST UNREAL AND DOWN RIGHT CREEPY THINGS ANY HUMAN HAS EVER SEEN OR WILL SEE AGAIN. I WILL TELL YOU TWO OF THEM. CASKETS FLOATING DOWN THE STREET AND LOOKING DOWN FROM AN OVERPASS AT THE INTERSTATE WHICH WAS UNDER 8 FT OF WATER AND WATCHING A SHARK SWIM BY. IT IS VERY HARD FOR SOMETHING TO MAKE ME NOTICE IT NOW. MOST THINGS I JUST BORE ME.

  1. Shit balls! That is pretty creepy. That’s why we should all be cremated. If we go floating down the river, it will just look like mud! LOL
