Taking Medication For Your Mental Illness Isn’t A Bad Thing.

I have a non-medicine treatment plan for ptsd that works for me. But, that is just me. Every one needs to find what works for them and medication may play a part.


Taking medication for a Mental Illness has been what I call a stigma in our society. Which is somethign that I’ve never really understand. Taking medication for Anxiety, Bipolar, OCD, Depression and others can help an individual function and try to get through their daily lives. Many people are always apprehensive about it but I can tell from experience that without out, I don’t know where I’d be. You shouldn’t be punished or seen as weak because you need to take medication for your mental health issues no matter what they are. You wouldn’t belittle someone taking medication for their heart, back, or other parts of their body so why belittle someone for taking medication that helps their mental state. There are different types of medication to consider if you are thinking about taking them.

  • Anti-depressants
  • Anti-Anxiety medication
  • Stimulants
  • Mood stabilizers
  • Anti-psychotics
